Global Learning Exchange Center

The Global Learning Exchange Center is mainly responsible for the administration and well-being of overseas students studying at Osaka Ohtani University, and organizing overseas study for home students.

Overseas students studying at Osaka Ohtani University have mostly come from the People’s Republic of China, South Korea, and Vietnam. The Global Learning Exchange Center assists such students by, for example, arranging student scholarships and organizing cultural exchange events.

The Global Learning Exchange Center has also forged links with a number of overseas universities and colleges to allow home students to study overseas. The main focus is on English language education, though an opportunity to experience overseas education methods is also provided.

At present, Osaka Ohtani University has links with the University of Waikato in New Zealand, Langara College in Canada, Moravian University and the University of Alabama in the United States, and the Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the Philippines. The university is also linked to four Korean universities, Woosong University and Uiduk University, Kyung Hee University, and Dankook University.

Periods of overseas study vary from two or three weeks to half a year or a full year. Two to three week programs of study are available in March for the University of Waikato, Moravian University, Kyung Hee University and Colegio de San Juan de Letran, and in August for Langara College and Dankook University. In Moravian University, students can experience pre-primary and primary school education. Also, in Kyung Hee University and Dankook University, students can study Korean and experience traditional Korean culture. In the remaining universities, the emphasis is on intensive English language courses. In addition, an overseas pharmacy study tour and sports study tour are also offered. Consequently, a wide variety of programs are available.

Half a year or a year’s study is possible and credits can be obtained and transferred to Osaka Ohtani University credits.

Students have also come from Moravian University to Osaka Ohtani University for short periods of study.
